On the Saturday just gone I took myself into London for a random stroll about in the City, camera in tow photographing whatever took my fancy.
Starting off in Shoreditch, I pinged my way about on foot through Aldgate and ended up in London Bridge, then onto Waterloo.
My only objective for the day was to keep practicing my new exploration of using long exposures with street photography, and intentionally allowing shake into photos - or even jerking it during exposure to create light trails with street lights. New to the technique was focusing on people while panning with them to add a greater sense of movement to the photograph, my favourite being this one;
I really like the slightly better focus on the bike, but the ghosting of people and longer light trails almost make it seem the background is moving while he cycles slowly. The atmosphere here is something I want to keep creating.
Mostly, I'm hoping to find a way to introduce something similar but on a lesser scale with street portraits.
