Cats, Compassion & Charity.
An ongoing documentary photography project that captures behind the scenes reality of veterinary work in a charity, the staff and the animals they care for.
Taking advantage of my unique position as someone with a lifetime working in veterinary nursing, I wanted to show a different perspective to that normally conveyed of it being cheerful and cute. While it can be very rewarding, it also stressful, demanding, requiring long hours and sacrifice. I have tried to convey not just the work and the patients but also the emotions and personalities of the staff involved.
