Emergency Veterinary Surgery.

A series of photos recording an urgent exploratory surgery to remove a foreign body in a large dog, accepted at the last minute due to the severity of the dogs condition.
I wanted to capture the stress and chaos that can occur in these kind of situations. We often see on TV dramas about human medicine how emergency situations can result in bloody surgical equipment strewn about as staff move quickly to focus on the patient, and veterinary medicine is much the same. Alongside this I was looking to document the range of emotions a veterinary surgeon can feel as they deal with performing difficult life saving surgery.
