Skateboarders of Southbank.
A personal mini project in the style of documentary photography recording the skate community at the Undercroft at Southbank, London. Taken at different times throughout a year, I found myself drawn to the alternative yet close knit group who reminded me of my younger years in the heavy metal scene. In this selection I have tried to capture small details such at the boards, environment as well as the camaraderie and friendships and not just the skating itself. The stark sunshine that can come through across the river later in the day provides great opportunities to work with high contrast and shadows, ideal for striking black and white photography.
